The Circular Energy Concept

The Circular Energy Homes concept has been developed and improved by Circular Energy Homes for approximately fifteen years.

This unique concept is a tried and proven method for building circular homes that are passively energy efficient. The home designs have very strong and straight forward construction methods. While the shape and construction initially makes them very strong, they are also easily adaptable for cyclonic conditions.

The only internal structural walls inside the building surround the central amenities area (bathrooms, en-suite, laundry etc) with a light and ventilation loft area above. Allowing rooms or room areas to be placed anywhere around the building to take advantage of views and energy efficient room placement. As the amenities are centralised, large windows or sliding doors may be placed in each of the eight external wall sections, allowing an abundance of natural light and very good cross flow ventilation.

The ceilings slope up to the loft area above the amenities and are vented into the loft and out through the loft roof ventilator and loft windows. So that natural ventilation flow is continually working in the home. The loft is accessed by a pull-down attic ladder and may be used for storage or extra room.

The roof is in eight sections and allows perfect positioning for solar panels. The roof eaves can be from 450mm up to 900mm depending where in Australia your home is situated for optimum energy efficiency advantages.

Covered or uncovered external decks may be constructed from any or all of the eight external wall sections to take advantage of views and outdoor living.

Our Elevated design with carports either side is mainly constructed with timber beams and steel columns and is a very economical construction method for steep land.

Customising

The majority of our Kit Homes have been customised for the client's special requirements. Just some of the changes are - room positions and layout, extra or larger decks, covered or uncovered decks with extra sliding doors, mirror reversing, different ground floor design, garages instead of carports etc etc. The list seems endless and we seldom have a request that we are unable to incorporate in our Kit Homes .

The starting point after the first contact is for you to give us enough information to allow us to do an initial sketch plan. Once you have a plan designed with your requirements and our expertise. A little fine tunning will produce your customised home.
